Cookie Policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026Version 1.0

This Cookie Policy explains how Zentiq uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites, in the Zentiq console and on the pages and widgets we host for our customers. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.

1. In short

  • We use a small number of first-party cookies, all of them needed to sign you in and keep your account secure.
  • We use your browser's local storage to remember choices you make, such as your display preferences, and to keep drafts you are working on.
  • We use no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no cookies that track you across other websites.
  • Because everything we store is necessary for the service you ask for, or remembers a choice you made, we do not ask for cookie consent. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

2. What cookies and local storage are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage and session storage are similar: they let a website keep small amounts of information in your browser. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab; local storage stays until it is cleared. "First-party" means set by the website you are visiting; "third-party" means set by another company.

3. Cookies we use

CookieWhat it doesHow long it lasts
zentiq_sessionKeeps you signed in, and identifies your account securely. Signed, HTTP-only and sent only to our own site.30 days, or 12 hours for learner, class-code and embedded sign-ins. Deleted when you sign out.
zentiq_oauth_stateProtects sign-in through a third-party account against forged requests.10 minutes.

All of these cookies are first-party and strictly necessary. None is shared between our domains, and none is used for advertising or analytics.

Short-term state while you use the productHand-over details between setup steps, and the last few typed messages with our support avatar so the conversation continues if you move between pages.Until the tab is closed (session storage).

5. Content and connections from other providers

  • Software libraries. Some pages that use your camera or check photos you upload, and our API reference, load software from third-party content delivery networks. Those providers receive your IP address and technical details of your browser, as with any web request. They do not set cookies through our pages.
  • Live AI conversations. When you talk to Chloe on our website, or in the console, your browser connects directly to our AI service provider so that she can hear and answer you in real time.
  • Signing in with another account. If you choose to sign in with a third-party account, you are taken to that provider's page, which uses its own cookies under its own policies.
  • Payments. Payment pages are hosted by our payment provider, which uses its own cookies, for example to prevent fraud.
  • Images and video. Avatar images and videos are delivered from our own content delivery network.

6. Our widget on customers' websites

When a customer adds a Zentiq avatar to its own website, our widget script stores nothing in your browser and sends no cookies. The avatar window may remember caption preferences you change, as described above. Cookies set by the customer's own website are the customer's responsibility and are covered by its own policies.

7. Your choices

You can block or delete cookies and clear local storage in your browser's settings. If you block the cookies above, you will not be able to sign in. Clearing local storage resets your preferences and may delete unsaved drafts.

We do not sell or share personal data for advertising. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing, although we do neither.

8. Changes and contact

We will update this policy when we change the cookies or storage we use. Questions: privacy@zentiqai.com.
